City Power probing electrocution of newly-wed couple in Crosby

City Power is investigating reports that a couple in Crosby near Mayfair died after they were electrocuted on Sunday night.
The couple has been identified as Zaheer Sarang (28) and Nabeelah Khan (24).
"The CEO Mr. Mongezi Ntsokolo has requested the team to launch an urgent investigation into the allegations that the couple was killed by a faulty electrical connection, attributed to the illegal connections in the area," says City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena.

"From Monday morning to team has been busy with the preliminary investigation to establish the facts, and we will provide the details at a later stage.”
Magena has urged residents not to tamper with electricity infrastructure.
The incident is being investigated by the Gauteng police.
"The bodies of the couple were found inside a shower in Crosby Mayfair on Sunday at about 5:30 pm. It is suspected the couple was electrocuted but police are waiting for the postmortem results," says police spokesperson Mavela Masondo.
Sowetan is reporting the couple were newly-weds and had just returned from their honeymoon.
