City reopens most Durban beaches
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
eThekwini says all but two beaches are open to the public now after tidal waves battered the Durban beach front on Sunday and dumping huge volumes of sand and causing damage to the promenade.

The city says clean-up operations and shark net installations are continuing - with nets at all beaches between uShaka Beach and the Country Club already reinstalled.
Shark nets at eThekwini and Lagoon beaches will be put in tomorrow.
The municipality says Battery Beach is also open - but will have to be closed if there is a high tide, while Country Club and eThekwini beaches remain shut.
