Close to 5, 000 new Covid-19 cases, death toll rises by 46

The department of health has confirmed that the death toll in the country now stands at 1 877.
In his daily statement, Health Minister Zweli Mkhize reveals 32 of the latest deaths were recorded in the Western Cape - the province that remains the hardest hit by the coronavirus.
Mkhize says the eleven deaths were also recorded in the Eastern Cape, and three in KwaZulu Natal.
"We wish to express our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased. The mortality rate is 2,0%," says Mkhize.
The minister reveals 92 681 positive cases have been reported in the country, of which 4 966 are new cases.
"1 293 608 tests have been completed in total, of which 33 147 new tests are reported. The number of recoveries is 50 326, which translates to a recovery rate of 54,3%," the minister says.
