The South African Weather service says the cold front which hit Cape Town on Wednesday night is expected to hit inland province by Friday night and continue all the way through the weekend.

The South African Weather service says the cold front which hit Cape Town on Wednesday night is expected to hit inland province by Friday night and continue all the way through the weekend.
"On Friday, strong North-Easterly winds which might lead to run-away fires are expected," SA Weather forecaster Edwin Thema said.
"On Saturday overnight cold temperatires can be expected in the North West, Gauteng and Mpumalanga. No rain expected though."
"Still cold on Sunday in most areas, but temperatures are expected to return to normal on Monday."
On Wednesday night, residents of Paarl were evacuated from their homes to community halls when the Berg River broke its banks, said the DA. Warnings of immediate danger because of rising water levels would also be sent to farmers next to the river.
Franschoek Pass, between Franschoek and Villiersdorp, was closed after a mudslide and a small rockfall following heavy rains. Chapman's Peak Drive was also closed after a mudslide covered a large portion of the road.
