Weather SA forecaster Lulama Pheme says it will affect the highground of the Western Cape tomorrow morning.

"In the south-western parts of the country, you are going to have an 80 percent chance of showers and thundershowers, meaning widespread showers and thundershowers," says Pheme.

Pheme says the cold front will then move eastwards.

"As it moves, it will then be associated with a cutoff low that is going to sit southeast of the country. It will affect the Eastern Cape area with cold condition where we expect snow over the mountains in the Eastern Cape as well as the southern parts of the Drakensburg," says Pheme.

Pheme says Gauteng will feel the cold on Saturday.

"For Saturday, the temperatures for Gauteng will drop to below 16 degrees. We are looking at 15 degrees for Pretoria and 11 degrees for Johannesburg," says Pheme.

Pheme says temperatures will start rising again to mild conditions on Tuesday.
