Coligny magistrate questions lack of evidence

The bail application of two local farmers in Coligny in the North West has been adjourned yet again.

Pieter Doorewaard and Phillip Schutte are accused of killing a teenage boy for allegedly stealing sunflowers from a field.
The incident was followed by violent protests in the area.
The accused are applying for bail.
The matter entered its second court day today.
Magistrate Magaola Foso has summoned both the state and the defence to his chambers.
Maryke Vermaak reports from the Coligny Magistrate's Court.
Yesterday, one of the accused's affidavit was read in court, giving his side of the story on the day the teenage boy died.
