Contingency plans in place amid 10111 call centre strike

Police says contingency plans are in place to ensure that there are no disruptions to the 10111 Emergency Call Centre service when workers take to the streets.
Employees at the 10111 Emergency Call Centre is expected to march to Police Minister Fikile Mbalula's office this morning over wage-related issues.
Police spokesperson Sally de Beer says they are hard at work trying to solve the dispute. She says the Gauteng march has been authorised.
"Contingency plans are in place to ensure that there are no disruptions to our services to communities. This will apply countrywide should employees consider embarking on any type of unprotected strike action," says De Beer.
De Beer says employees who are required to be on duty are not allowed to march.
"Only employees on a rest day or on leave may participate in the march," says De Beer.
