Cop killed, another injured in Boschkop
Two suspects are on the run after allegedly killing a police officer and injuring another at Boschkop, east of Pretoria on Monday.
The two officers were on a routine patrol when they spotted a car without registration plates on the N4.
"The members ordered the driver of the VW Polo to stop and thereafter approached the vehicle on foot. Two male suspects emerged from VW Polo and a scuffle ensued between the suspects and the two constables,” says national police spokesperson Vishnu Naidoo.
"Both constables were subsequently shot, and their firearms were taken. One constable died at the scene while the second member was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg."
