Correctional officers to face the music
Updated | By Silindelo Masikane
Thirteen officials from the Department of Correctional Services will have to explain the presence of scantily-clad women at a Youth Day event at the Johannesburg Correctional Centre, better known as Sun City.

The officials are facing suspension after visuals went viral over the weekend showing the women "entertaining" inmates during the event.
Correctional Service's acting Commissioner, James Smalberger, confirmed that a Youth Day event was held at the facility, and that none of the items on the programme included "strippers".
"The intention was never to have strippers or dancers in the facility. We have had in the past where people are dancing but not to have the situation where people are - call it - undressing," he says.
Smallberger says no tax payer money was used for the event.
He says those responsible for the security breach will face the full might of the law.
"There are - at this state - the 13 people identified and not to pre-empt but there can even be more. This is those that are directly in breach of our security and other policies," he says.
