Labour Court clips Numsa's wings
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
The Labour Court in Johannesburg has ruled in favour of Comair preventing workers from the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) from striking.

The decision comes after the court granted a temporary interdict a week ago, ahead of a planned Numsa strike at airlines Kulula and British Airways during the busy Easter weekend.
Numsa affiliated members downed tools at the company on Thursday over salary discrepancies.
Comair initially proposed that the high earners should be denied wage increases until the salaries of other workers could breach the pay gap.

However, this proposal was rejected by Numsa, with the union saying it cannot allow the violation of the principle of equal pay for work of equal value in the workplace.
Comair's Wrenelle Stander says a meeting is planned with unions for Thursday to try and find a solution to the impasse.
"We will continue to engage the union on a whole range of issues and hopefully we are able to reach an agreement which is beneficial to both parties."
Numsa could not be reached for comment.
