The third witness in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has described the footballer's final moments before he was shot and killed in 2014.
An emotional Tumelo Madlala, who has described himself as Meyiwa’s best friend, told the court that Senzo struggled with one of the suspects moments before he was shot and killed.
Madlala is the third witness in the high-profile trial.
According to Madlala, Meyiwa and the second suspect struggled in the kitchen near the door before a gunshot went off.
“He was right there in the kitchen because Senzo was holding this guy’s right hand and he was pressing him against the wall.

“When I got there, I saw Senzo pressing this person against the wall and when I got there, I hit him with a fist that’s when a shot went off.”
Madlala told the court that when the gunshot went off he ran to one of the bedrooms to take cover.
He added that when he eventually emerged from the bedroom, Senzo was lying on the dining room floor between the TV stand and the couch.
The state is expected to conclude its questioning on Wednesday.
Thereafter both defenses will cross-examine the witness.
