Court ‘same as slaughterhouse’ – Zuma

Former president Jacob Zuma says he has no trust in the country’s judiciary.
Zuma will apply for leave to appeal his application for a permanent stay of prosecution in his corruption case.
The former president’s corruption case was postponed to February 2020 following a brief appearance in the high court in Pietermaritzburg on Tuesday.
He is facing charges of corruption, money laundering and racketeering linked to the multi-billion rand arms deal.

Speaking outside the court, Zuma said the events of the past decade has made him suspicious of the legal system.
Speaking in IsiZulu, he said Investigators and prosecutors have been gossiping about ways to put him behind bars.
"Too many things have happened over the years that even South African's doubt the judiciary. If you are in court, it's the same as sending someone to a slaughterhouse."
