Covid-19 cases in SA increase by more than 400 in 24 hours

South Africa has seen its first increase of coronavirus cases by more than 400 in one day.
“The number of COVID-19 cases has risen by 447 to a total of 6783,” says Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize.
The number of deaths has also increased by eight, bringing the total number of COVID-19 fatalities to 131.
Four of the deceased are from the Eastern Cape.

“A further two are from the Western Cape and two in Gauteng,” adds Mkhize.
The Western Cape continues to be the epicentre of South Africa’s pandemic with close to 50% of the country’s infections.
It is followed by Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, while the Northern Cape has the lowest infections at 24.
