DA: No way Bobani will be reinstated
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The Democratic Alliance (DA) has expressed concern over the United Democratic Movement's (UDM) decision to head to court over the decision to axe Nelson Mandela Bay deputy mayor Mongameli Bobani.
The DA's James Selfe says it will not reinstate Bobani amid threats of legal action by the UDM.
"We are not in the market to reinstate Mr. Bobani. He is implicated in a report concerning corruption that occurred in the department he is in charge of. He is also very unreliably and votes consistently with the ANC on important service delivery issues," says Selfe.
Bobani was ousted from the legislature following a vote of no confidence. UDM leader Bantu Holomisa says the party will go to court to seek legal clarity on the procedure used to remove Bobani.

"We believe that the coalition ought to continue. There are hundreds of very fine women and men in the UDM with whom we are more than willing to cooperate. But we are not prepared to deal with somebody who has a questionable commitment," says Selfe.
