President Zuma is expected to address the nation amid outrage over added security and a threat by the EFF to disrupt proceedings.

"We suspect that he is going to harp on the old themes, reintroducing racialism into our national discourse and talking about radical economic transformation without going into any detail," says Selfe.

Selfe says this is his 23rd SONA and he described the security is "outrageous" this year.

"The security measures are over the top. We are actually keeping the public of South Africa away from the People's Parliament rather than making them part of it and in the end, this is going to alienate the public from the very institution they are supposed to control," says Selfe.

Selfe says it's too early to say what they will do it the EFF plans to walk out of the National Assembly.

"It depends on what occurs. The EFF does what the EFF does and we do what we do," says Selfe.
