DA: Ramaphosa can talk but leads an ANC that cannot act
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
The Democratic Alliance says ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa's "silver tongue will do nothing to stabilise South Africa's sluggish economy and advance much-needed coherent policy".

DA spokesperson, Phumzile van Damme, says it remains problematic that President Jacob Zuma, and everyone linked to the Guptas are still in the Union Building and hold positions of powers.
"Zuma will continue to ensure that his friends and family amass wealth while millions of our people stay hungry and struggle to find a job, and Ramaphosa will not do a thing. The NECs failure to remove President Zuma earlier this week further entrenches this notion", says van Damme.
The DA believes Ramaphosa's credibility is rocky as he is the same person who defended Zuma and voted against the motion of no confidence brought against Zuma in parliament.

"Nothing has changed except the name of the person who leads a dead and corrupt ANC," says van Damme.
The DA is also saddened that Ramaphosa paid lip service to crucial issues such as corruption in both the private and public sector, land issue, unemployment and the higher education crisis.
"Under this government South Africans will only be offered empty promises which never materialise. The ANC is an organisation that is unable to build a capable state that can grow its economy, cultivate employment opportunities for its people and put an end to corruption wherever it occurs".
