DA takes aim at Motsoeneng in SABC picket
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Supporters of the DA gathered at the SABC's offices in Auckland Park, Johannesburg on Tuesday to picket against the public broadcaster's COO, Hlaudi Motsoeneng.
The DA is calling for the removal of Motsoeneng as well as an end to the 'undemocratic censorship' during Motsoeneng's tenure.
"Motsoeneng has, throughout his tenure at the SABC, proven that he is not a fit and proper person to hold this position. He has demonstrated his unsuitability and the latest resignation of Acting Group CEO, Jimi Matthews, citing the "corrosive atmosphere" is evidence that he needs to go at once," the DA said in a statement.
