DA: Tshwane 'k-word’ WhatsApp message fake

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in
Tshwane says the “k-word" WhatsApp message allegedly sent by its party
member Fred Nel is fake.

The party launched an investigation into the matter after the African National Congress (ANC) in the region laid criminal chargers against Nel and councillor Crezanne Bosch.

The DA’s Mike Moriarty says an investigation by a leading cyber forensic company, Cyanré, has exonerated Nel and Bosch.
“The WhatsApp was extremely racist in nature, but it was certainly fake, and it was certainly not the words of the individuals involved."
He adds the party is satisfied that the matter was fully investigated, however the party seek to find the those involved in manufacturing the fake racist WhatsApp messages.
“Racism is not acceptable but also the false charge of racism is also not acceptable.”
