The
African National Congress’ (ANC) in Tshwane says it will be laying criminal
chargers against Tshwane Mayor Solly Msimanga on Monday.

The party’s chairperson in Tshwane Kgosi Maepa says Msimanga contravened the Public Finance Management Act.
“The mayor has oversight work, he is a political head of a municipality, he must do oversight on ever contract over R200 000,” says Maepa.
This is in relation to alleged corruption involving the city manager Moeketsi Mosola, who awarded a tender to Glad Africa to assist in rolling out infrastructure projects worth R12billion.
In an unrelated case, the party says it is going to open a case of racism against a DA member Fred Nel for allegedly calling DA members the “k-word" in a WhatsApp message.

Maepa has also called on President Cyril Ramaphosa to institute a Special Investigation Unit (SIU) probe into the the alleged mismanagement and corruption into Msimanga.
“We also request the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Premier of Gauteng and MEC of CoGTA to move with speed and implement section 139 1 [b] and place the city under administration.”
