De Lille: Forget about 'blue liars', I am ready to work
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
The leader of the GOOD party and newly appointed Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure Patricia De Lille says she cannot wait to get her hands on her portfolio.
"Forget about the blue liars (referring to her previous party the DA), I don't even want to think about them. I am now focusing on helping to build my country and they must concentrate on their jobs."
She was speaking at the sidelines of the cabinet swearing-in ceremony at the presidential guesthouse in Pretoria on Thursday.
De Lillie who had a very public falling out with the DA which led to her resignation as Cape Town mayor, described her appointment to President Cyril Ramaphosa's cabinet as a complete surprise.

She is the only minister not from the governing African National Congress (ANC).
"This is something I must do, I will put my everything in it, because when the president called me and asked me to do this task I felt that I needed to say yes because he is inspiring the nation with hope and if you are called upon to do your contribution then you must do so. I am ready for it and cannot wait to start."
The DA has rejected Ramaphosa’s new cabinet, accusing him of appointing individuals to reward them politically.
Party leader Mmusi Maimane also wants all the ministers and deputy ministers to be subjected to lifestyle audits.
