Delay in release of SIU Nkandla report
Updated | By Lonwabo Miso

"The unit has until recently indicated that it was hopeful that its report... will be completed by the end of June," said spokesman Boy Ndala.
"Regrettably, as a result of certain circumstances which are completely outside its control, the unit will no longer be able to meet this deadline."
The SIU said it hoped the report would be released soon.
"The unit is hopeful that the delay will not be much longer than two weeks."
Ndala said the SIU investigating team was hard at work finalising the report.
"Unfortunately, the report cannot be finalised until certain processes have first been finalised. Attempts are being made to ensure that those processes are brought to a speedy conclusion," he said.
"As soon as we are in a position to indicate when those processes have been finalised a further statement will be issued."
On June 12, the SIU confirmed it had submitted a provisional report to Zuma.
The Nkandla project cost R246 million and Public Protector Thuli Madonsela found in her report on the matter that Zuma had unduly benefited from it.
She recommended that Zuma pay for some of the improvements out of his own pocket.
Zuma said he would respond only once the SIU's investigation was completed.
