Department extends NSFAS deadline
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The National Higher Education Department says it is concerned at the small number of applications by prospective students to study at Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges.
Prospective students have until December 2 to apply for financial aid for tertiary studies.
The Higher Education Department announced that NSFAS will keep its online application open until midnight on Sunday due to the high volumes received by the Financial Aid Scheme.
Deputy Minister, Buti Manamela however says he’s concerned over the low amount of applications received from citizens who want to study at TVET colleges.
“I specifically want to urge those students who wish to study at TVET colleges to do so urgently as we received very few applications,” says Manamela.
More than 360 000 applications have been logged.
