Diesel users see another price hike in October
Updated | By Eva Chipa
Some motorists will either breathe a sigh of relief while others will
feel the pinch when the latest fuel prices take effect from Wednesday.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy announced the latest adjusted full prices on Monday.
Both grades of petrol are set to drop, with 93 octane petrol decreasing by 4 cents per litre while 95 octane petrol drops by 1 cent a litre.
LP Gas will also see a slight drop of seven cents per kilogram.
“The reason for the adjustments is due to the prices of petroleum product increasing under the period of review, the rand appreciating on average against the US Dollar and the Slate Levy decreasing by 2.2 cents a litre,” says the department’s Robert Maake
However, it’s not all good news as diesel is set to increase by 23 cents per litre.
Illuminating paraffin will cost 32 cents more per litre.
