Dineo heading towards Lowveld region
Updated | By Silindelo Masikane
Residents of Mpumalanga, Limpopo and northern KwaZulu-Natal are bracing themselves for heavy rain, as tropical storm Dineo moves in a north-westerly direction.

The ex-cyclone, as it is being called by the South African Weather Service, made landfall in Mozambique last night and is expected to make its way across our borders.
Dineo will affect the north-eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal, the Lowveld of Mpumalanga and Limpopo with average winds of 60km per hour and heavy rainfall that will lead to localized flooding until Saturday.
SANParks also made preparations with trucks and buses on standby in case they need to evacuate visitors from the Kruger National Park while the army is also on call with its disaster management resources activated.
Meanwhile, the National Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs says all structures of government have been activated in anticipation of the tropical storm.
Local municipalities in Kwa Zulu-Natal, Limpopo and Mpumalanga have urged members of the communities to take care.
According to the SA Weather Service the tropical storm will hit the three provinces late this afternoon.
