Dineo potency fizzles out
Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
The Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) has confirmed there has been minimal impact from tropical depression Dineo.
Following the entry of the ex-cyclone into South Africa yesterday - a number of areas have, however, already received high volumes of rain.
Areas like Graskop, Blyde River Canyon, Punda Maria and Makhado have received varying levels of rain.
About 166mm fell in 24 hours in Graskop - the highest volume experienced thus far.
Cogta spokesman Legadima Leso says residents in Limpopo and Mpumalanga have been asked to remain alert.
"We believe that this rain is going to continue through the course of the day and our teams will continue to be on standby and monitor the situation as it unfolds," says Leso.
