Dirco assisting families of SA pilots killed in Tanzania
Updated | By Nokukhanya Mntambo
The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) says it's working closely with the families of the two South African pilots killed in Tanzania on the weekend.
The bodies of Des Werner and Werner Froneman are yet to be repatriated following the tragedy.
"Out of the respect we give to the families, we are unable to give a low-down and details of how far the situation is and so on," says the department's spokesperson, Lunga Ngqengelele.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the crash.

"I can confirm that we are working closely with the family in terms of assisting. It would mean that there is a detailed investigation that must be done which affects every aspect that we are working on but I am unable, as we speak at the moment, to say when the bodies are coming back to South Africa," adds Ngqengelele.
Werner and Froneman were killed on Saturday while on their way back to South Africa.
The two men, both project directors from non-profit organisation U-Dream Global, were accompanying teenagers on an excursion from Cape to Cairo in a self-assembled Sling-4 aircraft.
