Dobsonville taxi crash leaves one dead, eight injured

Gauteng traffic police are searching for a taxi driver who fled the scene of a deadly crash in Dobsonville on Friday morning.
The fully-loaded taxi was the only vehicle involved in the crash, which left one person dead and eight others
Spokesperson Obed Sibasa says the taxi was clearly not roadworthy at the time of the crash.
“Gauteng traffic police and other authorities are dealing with a single vehicle fatal crash on Alias Motswaledi opposite dumping site in Dobsonville, Braamfisherville. A fully-loaded, unroadworthy taxi, driver speeding, lost control of the taxi and collided with an object”.
Sibasa says the driver of the taxi fled the scene of the crash.
“One passenger died on the scene and eight sustained moderate injuries, the driver of the taxi fled the scene. According to witnesses the driver was driving recklessly from Dobsenville mall. Police are on the manhunt for the driver.”
