Dogs, security officers to guard Ennerdale school after stabbing

The Department of Education in Gauteng will deploy dogs and security officers to Oakdale Secondary School in Ennerdale.
The deployment comes after a grade 8 pupil, Siyanda Malinga, was stabbed to death just outside the school’s premises on Thursday morning.
Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane, on Friday, urged parents to work closely with schools to prevent incidents of violence, saying discipline is learned at home.
"So what we are doing here today, we are going to secure the school. We intend to put quite a number of security guards to patrol during the day and at night.
"We are using a new method of using dogs now because dogs are quicker, so when there is a problem, they can alert us.”
