Drug mule swallows 100 cocaine bullets
A 33-year-old drug mule has been arrested at the Cape Town International Airport.
Western Cape police say investigations are underway, after the woman - who swallowed 100 bullets of cocaine - was caught by police on Wednesday.
Provincial police spokesperson Andrè Traut says they received intelligence that the suspect was on a flight from Angola.
"We received information that this lady was on a flight from Luanda and arrived at the Cape Town International Airport. She was taken to a medical facility where 100 bullets of cocaine was collected."
She was placed under observation and apprehended.
Traut says the value of the drugs is yet to be established.
The suspect is expected to appear in court once she has been charged.
