Durban beaches closed due to massive waves
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Durban beaches were closed on Tuesday due to big swells.

City authorities say they were advised by the Sharks Board that shark nets have been removed because of the weather conditions.
Currently, sea swells in Durban are currently at 4 metres and there is a 15 kilometres per hour South Easterly wind.
Head of Parks and Recreation Thembinkosi Ngcobo says they are hoping to reopen beaches by tomorrow.
"They will then make an assessment which they normally do in the early hours of the morning, before six o'clock. They will than advise us whether or not we should continue to close our beaches but we're hoping that the situation will improve given that apparently the rains have stopped. Then we will make the announcement once we have received advice from them," he said.
