Eastern Cape Health MEC tests positive for Covid-19

The Eastern Cape MEC for Health, Sindiswa Gomba, has tested positive for Covid-19.
The Health Department has confirmed that MEC Gomba tested positive on Sunday.
Department spokesperson Judy Ngoloyi says the MEC will be working from home.
“The MEC is at home isolating as per the protocols of Covid-19.

“She began her isolation today and is asymptomatic and will continue with her duties working from home.”
Gomba has requested all those she may have come in contact with, to get tested for the virus.
The Eastern Cape is one of the four provinces leading the current second wave of coronavirus in South Africa and is proposing that all of the beaches across the provinces be closed during the Festive Season.
