ECape man appears for rape

A 20-year-old man appeared in the Bityi Periodical Court on Wednesday for allegedly raping a 59-year old woman, Eastern Cape police said.

The case against him was postponed to July 2 for a formal bail application, Lt-Col Mzukisi Fatyela said.
The man was arrested on Tuesday after the community assisted police with apprehending him.
The 20-year-old allegedly raped the woman on June 15 in Mthentu near Mthatha while she was on her way home from her relative's
house.
