A man allegedly shot his police constable wife dead and then killed himself at their home in Ezibeleni, near Queenstown, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.
The 33-year-old off-duty constable, stationed at the Ilinge police station, was killed by her husband Lita Balekile, 33, on Sunday morning, said Colonel Sibongile Soci.
The man then went to inform his neighbours that he had killed his wife, and while they were reporting the shooting to police, he shot himself dead.
The motive of the shootings was unknown.
