Edenglen High brawl ‘sparked by R25’
The victims of a vicious attack outside Edenglen High School in Johannesburg have opened a criminal case against the pupils involved in the brawl.
In a video clip, which has gone viral on social media, pupils can be seen assaulting each other in a residential area.
In one part of the clip, one boy is kicked by others while lying on the ground.

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi visited the school on Wednesday and was told that some of the pupils in the clip are not registered at Edenglen High School.
An investigation to identify them is currently underway.

Lesufi was also told that the fight was sparked by R25 owed to one of the pupils.
"Who owes who R25 I don't know and that is part of the investigation,” he said.
"The police arrived this morning to interview those that have information and there is a case that they are investigating.
"We have given strict instructions to the SGB now that they must identify the suspects, hunt them and suspend them,” he said. “The school is condemning this.
"We are echoing the sentiments of the school. They have taken me through their code of conduct and they have taken me through their disciplinary processes,” Lesufi said.
Lesufi said by the end of the day all the culprits involved in the fight will be identified.
