Edenglen High suspends 7 pupils for brawl
Updated | By Karabo Tebele
The Gauteng Education Department has revealed that six pupils who were involved in a brawl at Edenglen High School in Germiston tested positive for dagga.
A total of seven pupils have been suspended for their part in Monday’s brawl.
“The learners were suspended pending a disciplinary process which will be scheduled for the 19th and 20th of November at the school,” says the department’s spokesperson Steve Mabona.
“It is so sad that six of the learners who were involved in this fight tested positive for dagga usage and in addition, one of the suspended learners was found with a knife which he indicated that this was meant for his protection against other learners.
“Police continue to investigate this matter. There is a case that has been opened at a police station, so it will be monitored very closely.”
