The red berets has accused Dlodlo of deliberately misleading the public and parliament about a non-existent intel that cautioned government on the Release Zuma riots.

Dlodlo and Police Minister Bheki Cele have been contradicted each other about an intelligence product on the past week’s riots and unrest.

The state security minister maintains her department provided the police with adequate intelligence before the violence broke out in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

These claims have been refuted by Cele.

The EFF also says it believes there was never any intelligence.

“The EFF can place it on public record that Minister Ayanda Dlodlo and the SSA never had any intelligence product generated to foresee key events of the riots,” the party said in a statement on Wednesday.

“There was no intelligence product which warned about the blockades of N3 Mooi River Plaza, the attack of commercial centres/malls, or even the marches by hostel dwellers. Neither did they send such an intelligence product to the SAPS or the Minister of Police.”

It adds that Dlodlo is a danger to national security and stability of the country.

“She is part of information peddlers who lie to our people to protect their utter incompetence. She has misled the public, and her officials in the SSA have deliberately misled Parliament in order to hide their utter incompetence and negligence.”
