Party leader Julius Malema alleges that Gigaba was at the centre of corruption at Transnet, including an inflated R17 billion tender which he claims involved one of the advisors to the Gupta family.

"Gigaba is at the center of stealing money from the people. There is no single country which has bought a single locomotive for this amount. Not even developed countries have paid this amount of money for a locomotive. So who are we to accept such a price in the presence of transactional advisers whose responsibility is to compare prices with other countries. In this case it is clear there was no such an activity, if there was it was ignored.”

He says they will also write to the Chinese government, Canadian government, the United States and the World Bank to investigate companies named in the leaked emails.

"Any of the Cabinet ministers whose implicated in the Gupta leaked emails are fake should have challenged them through the courts or the press ombudsman. However, I can guarantee you that none of them will do so because these emails and their contents are authentic. Last week Zuma lied to Parliament and the people of South Africa by claiming that he is not opposed to the Commission of Inquiry into state capture. The remedial actions by the Public Protector stated that Zuma should have established an inquiry within 30 days in 2016. The reason that was not done is because Zuma instituted a review application in the Pretoria High Court," says Malema.

He says the EFF is in possession of the leaked emails and will compile a dossier so they can impeach the implicated ministers.

"The authenticity of the emails is no longer up for discussion, you can’t say its hear-say. The media outlet says here is the email, the president of the IFP says ‘yes it’s my email’. The authenticity is of the emails is no longer an issue here, they are real and have been proven. South Africa has been sold to the highest bidder.”
