The 48-year-old was arrested in Mookgophong on Tuesday.

He becomes the eighth suspect to be nabbed for the double murder following the arrest of two more suspects on Monday.

The fifth suspect Steven Mohlala was arrested in January this year.

The first four suspects Samuel Seruputlane, Jabulane Mashamaite, James Chuma and Frans Mangadi are set to stand trial in the High Court in Limpopo.

The suspects are accused of killing ANC councillors Vaaltyn Kekana and Ralph Kanyane in July 2019.

Kekana was shot and killed before the tabling of a report at council on the irregular expenditure and maladministration in the Mogalakwena Municipality.

They were ambushed by a gunman who opened fire on them while sitting in a car at a shopping complex in Mokopane.
