Updated | By Nokukhanya N Mntambo
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) says a third cop has been arrested for the murder of 16-year-old Nathaniel Julies.

Last week Julies was shot and killed in Eldorado Park, allegedly by the police, although the exact circumstances of the shooting remain contested.
Ipid spokesperson Ndileka Cola says the police watchdog apprehended the suspect on Tuesday afternoon.
“The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) has this afternoon arrested the third suspect linked into the Nataniel Julies murder on charges of defeating the ends of justice and being in possession of prohibited ammunition.
“The detective is also from Eldorado Park South African Police Services.”

This comes after the gruesome discovery of six bodies on a farm on the south coast of the province. The bodies were found separately but are believed to be linked. On Tuesday, Zikalala visited the families of the women. He told members of the community that more law enforcement would be deployed to the area.
The suspect is set to appear before the Protea Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Two other police officers were arrested on Friday and are expected to make another court appearance a week later.
“Ipid continues to investigate this matter,” Cola adds.
