Updated | By Samkelo Maseko
Gauteng Roads and Transport MEC, Ismail Vadi has launched the department's campaign for electronic payments on taxis, buses and trains.

Electronic Fare Collection System will see commuters making use of one ticket to move from one mode of transport to another.
Vadi says there has been come challenges getting taxi drivers on board, but they have now come to the party.
"They are offering a solution which meets national standards and specifications. It allows for the integration, bringing together the different technological tools for the ticket," Vadi said.
Santaco President Phillip Taaibosch thanked Vadi for changing the game.
"He's an MEC who has been prepared to change the game. We have been fighting with him, but what he has been saying is that if you can give me an ear and you sit down and listen what I want to do, is to bring sustainability to the industry. MEC thank you very much for having shown this confidence," Taaibosch said.
Vadi admits the new system might cause some disruption at first.
