'Elevated risk' of load shedding this week - Eskom
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Eskom says a marginal improvement in generation capacity has allowed it to suspend load shedding.
The power utility suspended the rolling blackouts on Sunday.
This after it reduced load shedding to stage 1 on Saturday after weeklong stage 2 power cuts between 5pm and 10pm.
Eskom spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha says the system continues to be constrained with an elevated risk of load shedding over the coming weeks.
“Eskom will continue to closely monitor the system, adjust and communicate any changes as may be necessary."
The utility was operating with 4 331MW on planned maintenance on Sunday, while another 13 805MW of capacity was unavailable due to breakdowns.
