Emalahleni and Msukaligwa finally reach agreement with Eskom
Updated | By Suné du Toit
The Emalahleni and Msukaligwa municipalities in Mpumalanga have reached payment agreements with Eskom after the intervention from the provincial government.

Power supply to the two municipalities have been interrupted for several weeks, because the municipalities failed to settle their debt with Eskom.
The power utility's spokesperson, Khulu Phasiwe, says the agreement was reached yesterday.
"From today, we are not going to interrupt their power supply anymore," says Phasiwe.
Phasiwe says the two municipalities owe Eskom over R1 billion.
"They said they could not pay everything at once, they have signed a contract saying they will continue to pay a particular amount on a monthly basis. If they continue to pay as per the agreement there won't be any issues. If they default, then we will activate our interruptions again," says Phasiwe.
