Emalahleni mother in court for death of 4 children

A woman appeared in the Witbank District Court on Monday in connection with the murder of her four children.

Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Mpumalanga, Monica Nyuswa, says the Emalahleni woman is alleged to have murdered her four children a day before New Year’s Eve.
The children were aged between 11 months and four years old.

Nyuswa says the mother allegedly wrapped her children in blankets before calling family members to view the bodies.
"Thereafter she called her family members to come and see where they found all the victims lying down.”
Nyuswa says the 30-year-old woman then turned herself into the police.
The case was postponed to next Monday for a formal bail application.
