Ennerdale residents take to the streets

Johannesburg Metro Police has confirmed that roads in-and-around Ennerdale & Lawley, east of Johannesburg have been completely closed-off by protesting residents.
Massive protests erupted earlier on Thursday and according to the Johannesburg Metro Police's Edna Mamonyane, a ward councillor addressed the residents over their concerns linked to service delivery.
Mamonyane added that schools in the area were also closed as a result of the protest.
According to reports the residents are unhappy about the lack of housing in the area.
This comes on the back of violence that broke out in Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria earlier this week.
Two security guards were killed during the violence, where after the provincial government intervened.
Residents in Hammanskraal were protesting against evictions.
