The N3 Toll Concession says the operations from Heidelberg to Cedara will be halt as a result of new security threats.

Former president Jacob Zuma’s arrest last week sparked protests by pro-Zuma supporters calling for his early release from the Estcourt prion.
This escalated to widespread looting and violence, the blocking of strategic roads between the two provinces, and damage to property.
On Tuesday morning, the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure (NatJOINTS) said a total of 489 people have been arrested in KwaZulu-Natal (166) and Gauteng (323).
N3 Toll Concession spokesperson, Thania Dhoogra says services will be suspended until it is safe to resume.
“Due to the ongoing threat of violent protests and in the interest of the safety and security of staff, services and road users, the entire N3 toll route from Cedara in KZN to Heidelberg South in Gauteng has now been closed to traffic, following renewed threat to security, personnel have now been evacuated from all toll plazas on the route, motorists are advised to avoid N3 route in its entirety until the situation has stabilised,” she said.
