Era By DJ Zinhle employee to face fraud trial
A former employee at an Era By DJ Zinhle store at the Menlyn shopping centre is set to go on trial in July on charges of fraud.
She was arrested in January for allegedly stealing products worth an undisclosed amount from the popular outlet.
It was the second incident where an employee allegedly stole from DJ Zinhle’s store.
Last year, the DJ caught an employee reportedly stealing R500 000 from her business account.
In the latest incident, 23-year-old Thabile Malatjie appeared in the Hatfield Magistrates’ Court where she applied for mediation in an attempt to avoid prosecution.
NPA spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana says Malatjie’s application was denied by the public prosecutor.
“She is facing a charge of theft after the police searched and found stock in her property.”
Malatjie was released on R5000 bail.
