Acting Eskom board chairperson Zethembe Khoza has been asked to rate corporate governance at the power giant.

Acting Eskom board chairperson Zethembe Khoza has been asked to rate corporate governance at the power giant.
On his second day of testifying at the inquiry into alleged state capture at Eskom, Khoza was asked for the evaluation by IFP MP Narend Singh.
"Mr Khoza, you have been on the board for some time now - if you were to rate governance at Eskom one to ten - with ten being the best and one being hopeless - where would you rate the governance in the last three years?" Singh asked.
Khoza responded by giving the utility a remarkably low rating.
"In the last two years, maybe around three. This is taking into account the turnover of chairpersons, and at executive level, that has taken place."
Singh was quick to respond: "Governance at three out of ten - I rest my case."

Earlier, the Public Enterprises Portfolio Committee said it was going to subpoena Deputy Public Enterprises Minister Ben Martins to testify.
Martins has refused to appear at the inquiry, saying there's no need for him to give evidence in person.
The inquiry will resume in the new year.
