Eskom employee involved in kidnapping ordeal in Joburg

An Eskom employee is recovering in hospital after he was kidnapped and assaulted by a group of suspects in Johannesburg.
According to the power utility, the employee’s car was shot at multiple times before he was forcefully taken by a group of seven suspects.
The unidentified employee was later found in the south of Johannesburg, and admitted to hospital.
Eskom’s acting CEO Calib Cassim says police are investigating the abduction.
“We convey our sympathies to the employee and their family for the trauma they went through and will provide the necessary support.
"Eskom condemns such brutal acts and will under no circumstances, tolerate any attacks on its staff members and their families by anyone.”
