Eskom: No load shedding expected today
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
Embattled power utility Eskom says lights should remain on across the country at the start of this week.

The cash-strapped entity is expecting the return of four generation units from servicing which will bring the entity to full generating capacity.

However, Eskom spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshanthsa warns that the possibility of load shedding remains.
"Over the weekend the system held up very well, we did not have to implement load shedding on Sunday.
"However, we would like to remind the people of South Africa that the system does remain vulnerable and indeed unpredictable, thus we may have to implement loadshedding at short notice."
He adds that critical maintenance of ageing plants will ensure South Africans experience load shedding over the next 18 months.
