Eskom reverts to stage 1 load shedding as power system improves
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
Eskom has announced it will implement stage 1 load shedding on Tuesday evening from 5pm to 10pm instead of stage 2 as announced earlier.

The power utility says a generation unit is back in use.
Loadshedding returned on Sunday.
"This is due to further improvement in the generation capacity where we have had a unit come back to service during the course of the day while another unit is in the process of being returned to service. This has enabled Eskom to reduce load-shedding from stage 2 that was communicated earlier to stage 1," said spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha

"We currently have 14400 megawatts of capacity out on breakdowns while another 2300 megawatts is out on planned maintenance, while this situation has improved we would still like to urge the public to use electricity sparingly.”
Mantshanthsa added that the outlook for the rest of the week has also improved.
